In occasion of the real tests carried out in a care facility in Florence, GettyImages did a photography session of CoRo moving around the structure and of the elderly interacting with it.
Three real experimental phases planned in Italy and Sweden are coming to the end.
At the Ängen research and innovation apartment, the test site used for the Robot-Era experiments in Örebro, the Coro robot freely roamed in the building, and the participanting families who live here could call Coro and send it anywhere through a special mobile phone.

Workshop on "Bridging user needs to deployed applications of service robots"

The 2nd International Summer School on Social Human-Robot Interaction welcomes PhD students and young researchers for an intensive five days of lectures and ateliers covering a wide range of topics in social HRI. It follows up from the 1st Summer School held at Christ’s College, Cambridge, UK.
The school receives support from the FP7 DREAM project, the FP7 Robot-Era project and the IEEE RAS Summer Schools programme.
The summer school will be held at Käringsund Resort & Conference (www.karingsund.ax), Åland, Finland from Monday 24 August to Friday 28 August 2015.

On the basis of the analysis of the results of the surveys, the various technical problems faced during the first period of experimentation and the new technical requirements, Robot-Era partners redesigned the appearance of the two robots and made a few changes compared to the first prototypes.

The Robot-Era Open Day in Ängen aims at showing the current status of the project to interested subjects, stakeholders, and the press.
LOCATION
The first open day in Ängen, Sweden will be held on Friday, June 13, from 13:00 to 15:00.
On May 13, two researchers of Telecom Italy JOL (Joint Open Lab) White, will visit the DomoCasa Lab in Peccioli to test the "Drug reminding" service with Robot-Era researchers. The research in the Joint Open Lab has its main focus on Wellbeing and Health Innovative TEchnologies (WHITE), based on a strong interaction with ICT and biorobotics technologies.
This combined demo aims at integrating the technologies developed by the JOL (caregivers' portal and Android apps) with the indoor localization system and Robot-Era platforms. Robot-Era services represents an ideal field to effectively test the technologies developed by the Joint Lab, for this reason the involvement of Telecom Italy in this demo is a first step of a fruitful collaboration.
After designing and developing the Domestic, Condominium and Outdoor robotic platforms and defining the Robot-Era services, the first experimental loop started in Peccioli (Italy) on July and it is still going on. 35 senior citizens, living in Peccioli, 65+ years old were recruited to use and test the Robot-Era system, composed of the three robots and the AmI infrastructure, in the realistic indoor and outdoor environments of the Peccioli Town Lab. During the experimentation eight robotic services integrated in smart environments will be tested. Elderly volunteers were invited to interact with the robots in order to evaluate the technical effectiveness and acceptability of the Robot-Era robotic services.
